Overview

Welcome! This blog is primarily educational, although I hope it will also serve as a network of support for women. I recognize that abuse takes many ugly forms, but I have chosen to focus on domestic violence since I have done extensive research on this topic and I have personally experienced it as well. There are five main sections in this blog which cover the following:

1.What is Abuse? (myths and stereotypes, types of abusers, and personality disorders)
2.Red Flags (warning signs that every single young woman must know)
3.Recovery (resources and suggestions)
4.Community Relations (family life education, policies, influence of society, etc.)
5.Personal Stories (my own and others)

It is my hope that both men and women will learn something from this site, and that abuse – of any kind towards anyone – will diminish as it becomes more understood. Be forewarned that if you are a woman reading this blog because you think you might be in an abusive relationship, (you probably are) your life is about to change drastically. Once you are fully awakened to recognizing the patterns of abuse there is no turning back to the way things used to be. Just remember, ignorance may be bliss (sort of) but knowledge is potential power. Best Wishes!

Kaitlyn
